Pond Building/ Re Construction - Diss, Norfolk, IP22

This pond was once a functional fish pond with a working filtration system. The previous home owner took the fish when they moved and the new owner tried to use it as a wildlife pond. The real issue is the depth as it's just not manageable. Now the liner is in need of replacing the new owner wanted our pond company to make it shallower in the process. 

The sides of this pond weren't quite as stable as we'd have like to seen. The sleepers that secure the liner are incredibly heavy and we needed to make everything much stronger for longevity. The construction method we used was concrete filled sandbags to make what essentially is a retaining wall. This allowed us to create a nice level around the edge for the sleepers to sit on that wouldn't ever move. As you can see the water level now sits perfectly under the sleepers. We infilled the base of the pond with hardcore and then blinded with sand before installing the underlay and liner.
